2023 Annual Report
Intro Letter
Regional Care Group strives each year to turn our values into action. We aim to think outside the box in our efforts to grow and further support our community. As such, we continue to integrate our services offered at Regional Health Systems, Geminus, and Lake Park Residential Care in the communities we serve. Together, we can provide care that helps people have a better tomorrow.
During the 2023 fiscal year, Regional Care Group introduced the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both our employees and clients. The committee’s various activities include celebrating cultural holidays, attending DEI meetings that facilitate safe discussions, and promoting diversity and equity within the organization. Regional Care Group also fostered a partnership with the Crisis Center to provide administrative services, this partnership expands the reach of services provided to the community.
Our member organizations were also busy during the 2023 fiscal year. Regional Health Systems’ Psychiatry Residency Program completed its first year, training new psychiatrists to better care for underserved populations and people with mental illness in Northwest Indiana. Regional Health Systems received its mobile health unit and was able to address the goal of providing primary care, dental, behavioral health, and support services to the community for Hoosiers who have transportation challenges and are not able to visit a location. Alongside Regional Health Systems, New Beginnings Clubhouse also expanded space in its current building to serve more individuals increasing the capacity and accessibility of behavioral health services in the community.
In 2023, Geminus collaborated with law enforcement to offer Crisis Intervention Training. This partnership aimed to enhance the outcomes of police interactions with individuals affected by mental illness, ultimately contributing to better community safety and well-being. Additionally, Geminus provided support for 182 young adults in transition to independent living, helping them develop vital life skills to navigate the challenges of adulthood. Moreover, Lake Park Residential Care provided services to 108 clients during the fiscal year.
The network concluded the fiscal year by hosting the first annual fundraising gala. The “All That Jazz! Celebrating the Unity of Community” fundraising gala served the noble purpose of raising funds for local housing needs at Lake Park Residential Care. This event exemplifies the commitment to supporting housing and community well-being. Regional Care Group looks forward to growing this annual event to continue to support our efforts.
Overall, Regional Care Group and its members have made a positive impact on the communities we serve. Our commitment to care, partnership, community and resilience is evident in their various initiatives and collaborations. It is a testament to our dedication to making a difference and providing a better tomorrow for the community.
