Press Release: Former Crown Point Mayor Chairs Board of Regional Care Group

MERRILLVILLE, IN – Regional Care Group has faced a change in leadership at the board level with Dan Klein beginning as board chair.

Klein, former mayor of Crown Point, replaced Terrence “Terry” Quinn, who served for 3 years. Klein has also served as the chair of the Regional board previously.

“I am excited to once again help lead this board and be part of an organization that helps provide a holistic approach to people’s health in Northwest Indiana,” he said. “I look forward to helping guide and grow the Regional Care Group.”

The new network of care, Regional Care Group, is Indiana’s largest provider of community-based health care and social services, and combines Regional Health Systems, Geminus Corporation and Lake Park Residential Care to provide assistance the community needs in one easy spot.

The Regional Care Group launched under new CEO William “Bill” Trowbridge who replaced Robert “Bob” Krumwied, president and chief executive officer of nearly 30 years, when he announced his retirement effective January 2020.

“My term as chair was earmarked by the search of a new CEO upon the retirement of our previous, long serving CEO and navigating through all the challenges presented by the pandemic,” Quinn said. “Dan is the perfect person at the perfect time. He has my 100% support and confidence.”

In addition to Klein, Carol Drasga will now serve as vice chair and Carla Houck will serve as secretary and treasurer.

“The Regional Care Group is an amazing, multi-faceted non-for-profit organization,” Quinn said. “I am ecstatic with the board’s choice to call upon Dan Klein to lead. He is well qualified to lead us as we pursue an ambitious mission to further expand our efforts to those need care in our community.”
